Civil War Era Ladies Corset - $59.00



These working corsets are our best selling items.  Our clients have been very pleased with the quality and workmanship. Check out our Ebay feedback to see their compliments.  I've developed a durable, yet wearable design that will achieve the period correct look.

Both of our lined and unlined corsets will fit, feel, and look the same.  Both are the same quality.  Our unlined corset is made of one layer of heavy pre-washed cotton fabric. It laces up the back using durable lacing tape. The two ties meet at the waist. It has 8 flexible metal bones sewn into pockets made of bias tape. The top and bottom of the corsets are bound with bias tape. All seams are felled.  The materials I use provide enough strength to assure the proper shape and support while still allowing some degree of mobility. I have worn mine while sewing at craft shows and re-enactments for several years and I am very pleased with the way it has held up.

    

General Instructions

The corsets are machine washable. I recommend line drying.

These corsets are not intended to drastically reduce your waist size. The corset is made to take the strain, but your body is not. For health reasons, I do not recommend taking more than four inches off of your waist size. They are working corsets, but can be used for formal dress.

I include lacing instructions with each corset. This provides you with details on how to properly put on and wear your new corset. The instructions are printed on a bright pink slip of paper attached to your packing slip.

Shipment

Each corset will be custom made for you. Please allow approximately one week from your order date for me to complete your corset. You will receive an email with the delivery confirmation number when the corset is ready to ship. Your corset will be shipped to you using Priority Mail.


MEASUREMENT INSTRUCTIONS

  • Please provide your waist, bust, and hip measurements in inches by sending us an email after placing your order.
  • The bust measurement, taken at the fullest part, can be taken while wearing a bra.
  • Do not send your bra size, as these measurements can vary with manufacturers and may result in an improper fit.
  • Also feel free to include any additional information that you feel may be helpful.

Since a corset is something most people are not familiar with purchasing, we encourage correspondence. We will happily answer all your questions and do our best to assure a great fit.

Please feel free to order through our stores on Bonanzle or Etsy.  We also offer direct sales, although the price will be the same.  The prices on Ebay must be higher due to their fees.  Select one of the links from the venue of your choosing or see the instructions below for directly ordering from us.

                                                            

Direct Orders

  • Simply send us an e-mail at heathertreadle@aol.com and let us know you would like to order a corset.  Also, please specify if you would like to pay online with PayPal, using a PayPal account or a Credit Card, or if you would like to send us a money order.

  • If you want to pay online, I will respond to your e-mail and let you know the total cost of your purchase.  I will then send you an invoice using PayPal.  This invoice will come as a separate e-mail.  Simply click the link in the email to go to the PayPal website and proceed through the checkout.
    • IMPORTANT - I will always include a personal note to you in the invoice from PayPal.  This is so you know the invoice is legitimate and from Treadle Treasures.  I am concerned about your protection as well as ours and want to provide a simple but secure method for your purchases
    • PayPal accepts all major credit cards.
    • I have used PayPal's invoice for our customers who do not want to purchase through Ebay.  It has worked well for us.  I realize it's not fancy, but it's a simple method and secure.

  • If you would like to pay with a money order, I will e-mail you our mailing address along with the total cost of your purchase.
  • Shipping cost will be between $5 to $9, depending on the final weight of the corset and your shipping address.
